There is something special about watching young people step into opportunities they have worked hard to earn. This week was one of those moments for our school community.
A group of our football and netball players gathered early in the morning, not just to begin a journey to training, but to mark an important milestone. These students had been selected to represent our zone after standing out through their talent, commitment, and determination in their respective sports.
Before the boda bodas roared to life and the journey began, everyone paused.
Our Head Teacher gathered the students and the boda boda riders together for a time of prayer.
It was a simple but powerful reminder of who we are at Yahweh Tendereza. We celebrate achievement, but we also recognize that every opportunity is a gift from God. Before we compete, we pray. Before we travel, we commit the journey to Him. Before we represent others, we remember the One we ultimately represent.
As the students stood alongside the riders who would safely transport them, prayers were offered for protection on the road, wisdom for the coaches, strength for every athlete, and that each student would compete with integrity, humility, and joy.
Moments like these remind us that education at Yahweh Tendereza goes far beyond the classroom. We are committed to raising young people who pursue excellence in every area of life while keeping Christ at the center. Whether in academics, on the sports field, or within our community, we want our students to learn that character matters just as much as ability.
Being selected to represent the zone is a significant achievement, and we are incredibly proud of every student who earned that opportunity. Their selection is the result of countless hours of practice, perseverance through challenges, and a willingness to give their very best.
We are equally grateful to the boda boda riders who faithfully and safely transport our students. Their role is often behind the scenes, but it is an important part of helping these young athletes reach places where they can grow, compete, and shine.
As the motorcycles pulled away from the school grounds, they carried more than talented athletes. They carried young ambassadors for our school, our community, and our values.
We are cheering them on every step of the way and praying that they will compete with courage, encourage their teammates, respect their opponents, and give glory to God in all they do.
